Clinical practice in the treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer, universally known as the big killer among the gynecological cancers, has not experienced a significant increase in overall survival over the past 40 years for a number of reasons, including the lack of efficacious screening and the misconception that ovarian cancer is just one illness to be treated using the same rules, whereas we now know that there are at least five different types of ovarian cancer with completely different natural histories and possibilities of response to treatment and clinical evolutions.
